Welcome and introduction to my Citu experience

Welcome to my new site.  This is a blog about my experiences of buying a house from Citu, the Leeds based builder of "beautiful homes in sustainable places", in their words.

My Mews House in the Little Kelham development in Sheffield.

There is no doubt that Citu build beautiful houses and flats, and much of what they are trying to achieve in terms of sustainability and community is admirable.  However, my experience of dealing with them as a company has been an interesting experience from start to finish.  In this blog I'm going to provide details of that experience.

So, to start, here are the facts that underpin my Citu experience.  In summer 2018 I reserved a Mews House in the Little Kelham development, in Kelham Island in Sheffield, which was initially due to be ready in September 2018.  I moved into the house in January 2019, and have been living there since.

So, in the weeks ahead, and over a series of posts, I'm going to provide details about my personal experience of Citu.  This is a long story, so you'll need to bear with me. Thereafter my intention is to document my ongoing engagement with them in real time.

Citu make bold claims about themselves, about the houses they build and about the communities that they are forming.

I'll leave it to you to decide whether you feel that my experience matches their rhetoric.
